Perspective change

Regular readers of this blog might have noticed that ever since I have returned to India, my rants on the blog have increased substantially. In the short 4 months, that I have been in India, I have complained about broadband, customer service, airlines, people, noise levels etc etc. I've dedicated many a keystrokes to these rants.

I've been thinking about this for quite a few days now. Why only look at the things that are not working out. A colleague of mine from Seattle made me realize that things are a lot better in India now than, lets say, 2 years ago. So things are definitely moving in the right direction. They might not move fast enough, but atleast the direction is correct.

So starting today, I am going to post positive, upbeat stories on India. Stories that reflect the change in thinking and attitude in India. Lately, I've come across many such stories/articles. I wont cover each and every news item on India. I'll just cover the ones that I think are truly good. Stories which that cover the thinking that would have been impossible 10 years ago.

Rest assured, the original themes of this blog will surely continue. I will post stuff related to technology, tidbits, enterpreneurship and business. Not to mention the occassional rant here and there.

Okay, so all aboard with me? Here we go...

Thats funny that you should post that, I just got back from India and was constantly blown away by the change. Sorry to read about your broadband horror stories, My parents have a 256k line with BSNL and it worked like a charm every day.

BSNL's DSL works while it works, but God help you if it goes offline. I had 256k as well from BSNL for about 3 months, until I switch to Tata Indicom.
