Today at a traffic stop light near my home, I saw a 4-5 year old girl selling balloons. At her age children usually play with balloons, not sell them. But unfortunately she has to make a living selling balloons at a stop light. It was a very humbling moment for me.

I've always talked to friends about my dream of doing something for the people of India. Creating something grander than life that influences the way people work and live. Something that creates wealth for everyone that lives in business/personal ecosystem. I've been highly influenced by a lesser known book called "The Creation of Wealth" by Russi M Lala. The book traces the growth of the Tata empire from the 19th to the 21st century. It mentions how the Tata group created wealth for the entire nation. It brings out the difference between making money and creating wealth.

Books like "Its a flat world" give some hope. Now that the world is flat, there is equal opportunity for people living in any part of the world to go out and compete head on head with the very best out there. I want to see a flatter India. I want the balloon girl to get the same education and same access to the global landscape as the more priviledged citizens.

The balloon girl reminded me of my dream. I want to do something to make her life better. To give you an analogy, I want to be able to teach her to fish, not just give her fish for a day.

You have my applause. That sure is a heart-felt realization. And I am sure you will reach there. The most important thing as we grow is to retain the sensitivity to these little things in life. The challenge is to keep the voice of your heart loud enough so as to not have it suppressed by the head. And you sure do! Good luck, Ands, God bless and Godspeed!
