Unlimited 128k broadband

1/03/2006 03:10:00 AM, posted by anand

Just signed up for an unlimited 128k broadband DSL connection from Tata Indicom for Rs. 900 + taxes per month. Technically the TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) definition of broadband mandates the speed of atleast 256k, but hey, this one is the only unlimited usage option I get around here. Besides, I get a free static IP from them. Now thats a big deal.

Seems like a perfect timing for getting this unlimited broadband, now that my server is arriving here next week. Although this is a DSL connection, they will not piggyback on the existing telephone cable that is already laid out. They are going to run a separate cable to my house. So, I can ditch my landline and go truly mobile. Might be worth a shot.

Rahul, they will install the service within 8-10 days. I'll post my experience once I get it installed. For now, I've just ordered the service.
