Leaving for China tonite

I am leaving for China tonite. Flying out from Ahmedabad to Singapore, then from Singapore to Beijing. Have a 8+ hours halt in Singapore, so plan to take that free tour as well.

I will blog extensively about my experience in China. Yes, I've packed my camera for the trip. I'll get my chance to speak Mandarin with other people there. Lets see how I fare. But first I'll have to brush up my Mandarin in the flight.

I was given the Chinese address for the hotel in which I am staying, so that I could show it to the cabbie. Taxi drivers in Beijing dont speak English (at least thats what I've been told. I'll find out shortly). I am not carrying any RMB (chinese yuan), except for US dollars. They have a Bank of China ATM at the airport. I'll use that to withdraw some local currency.

Yooohoo! Finally, the moment! Yes, do keep writing and posting pictures if you may while in China. Also, please do speak Mandarin instead of the chinese you spoke before you learnt Mandarin :)). And remember what I told you - be on the look out for any Indo-Chinese food! I am so happy for you. Good luck and godspeed! Bon Voyage! yī lù shùn fēng!

Thanks for checking out my blog. I'll try to write as much about my experience here, in both China and India, as possible.
