Gmail now offers 2 GB of storage space

Goto the GMail login page, see a neato javascript counter that is inching its way towards the 2 GB marker. Now log into your GMail account (if you have one), scroll down to the bottom of the page. See your storage size also increase to exactly the same number as in the Javascript counter.

The counter would end at midnight tonite at the 2 GB marker. What a creative (and smart) way to lead to increase in the inbox size.

It doesn't end and all I get is a blinking cursor which is starting to get annoying. Do you know when this stupid counter will stop. Isn't enough to update people each day.

Seems that they are just letting it create a buzz. But after a while, it does get boring. Maybe they are making the competitors (both Yahoo and MSN) wonder, what is GMail upto.
