Broadband in India

Om Malik of Gigaom reports that Indian incumbent telcos - BSNL and VSNL are going start offering 256K broadband for just $11/month. They are going to launch it initially in Delhi, Bombay, Calcutta, Bangalore, Madras and Hyderabad on January 15, 2005. I'd buy that at the given rate and speed combo. The price is definitely going to be a huge catalyst for the value conscious consumers.
