RMI, Dynamic Proxies, and the Evolution of Deployment by William Grosso -- Slowly and subtly, RMI has evolved into a low-process, low-deployment-overhead, and lightweight framework for strongly typed remote method invocation. It's become as good for very dynamic environments as any of the more loosely coupled frameworks, without sacrificing any of its original strengths.
